Samadhi as the Soul Game of Identity and Difference

Following Patanjali we have said that Yoga is samadhi. And that the Yoga of Knowledge, the Ñana (Gnana or Jnana) Yoga, would then be “being the Consciousness of Samadhi”, which is a Consciousness of Bliss (Chidananda Rupa). Let's focus our Buddhi mind on samadhi for a moment. Sankaracharia, one of the great teachers of Hindu Advaita Vedanta, speaks of two types of samadhi: savikalpa (subject to differentiation) and nirvikalpa (not subject to differentiation). Savikalpa samadhi is the conscious state of “mind of Bliss” in which the Subject and the objects of knowledge maintain their own identity and difference from one another. With an example. Suppose you contemplate a rose and its beauty intoxicates you so much that your Soul transforms its configuration and you enter a state of absorption in Beauty. In this state of samadhi, you are intermingled with the rose, but the different identities of the rose and you are maintained. As Sankaracharia says, in this stat...

A Minor Chord on Non-Duality

If I say that I finally understand what nonduality is, then I am not understanding it. Well, if I understood it, I would be saying that non-duality is something that is understood or not understood, that is, that non-duality is something dual in relation to understanding. But it makes no sense to say that non-duality is dual. If I say that I finally intuit what non-duality is, then I am not intuiting it. Well, if I intuited it, I would be saying that non-duality is something that is intuited or not intuited, that is, that non-duality is something dual in relation to intuition. But it makes no sense to say that non-duality is dual. However, duality is understandable and intuitive. The fundamental intuition is expressed in the logical operators. The most basic of all is the Sheffer operator, with which we can build any system of logic, that is, any scientific theory. This operator is “Not X and Y”, where “X” and “Y” are any proposition. The fundamental logical o...

Daena, the Shadow, and Chinvat Bridge

We have seen that, according to Zoroastrian mythology, Spenta Armaiti is the mother of Daena. Translated into our own metaphors: our Soul and our Spirit are children, each in their own ontological rank, of the Soul and Spirit of the Earth. This is already found in many different mythologies, in fact, it is a generalized intuition that all of us have when we approach Earth from the perceptual depth of our Tripartite Souls (when we approach Earth from our Xvarnah, the projection link of light or mapping of light of the Soul onto Earth). In the “Path of Beauty”, Daena appears with the Sanskrit name of Purusha, but with the same meaning of “Human Spirit” or “Human Atman”.      Let me now tell you another episode of Zoroastrian myths: the crossing of the Chinvat Bridge. I'm going to reduce the myth to its fundamental elements. The Chinvat Bridge is the threshold that separates life and death. A quick remainder: as we already know, Soul...
